1. MSI GP65 Leopard

The first laptop on our list, the MSI GP65 Leopard sports a 10th gen i7 10750H and an RTX 2070 8 GB DDR6. The 10750H is a 6-core 12-thread processor with a base clock of 2.6 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5 GHz.

This CPU and GPU combo is gaming-centric and is best-suited for people who want to stream but can’t carry their desktop around.

The display is a 15.6-inch, 144 Hz IPS 1080p panel which is close to 100% sRGB and has very narrow bezels. There is a 720p webcam on top of the display which isn’t terrific, but gets the job done.

It has a SteelSeries keyboard with all keys having individual RGB lights and also a num-pad. The key lighting can be set using the software and can also be programmed to change color as an indicator even in the games.

2. Dell XPS 9500

The 2020 model of Dell’s thin and light laptop is considered to be the best Windows alternative to the MacBook Pro. It’s because of its light and sturdy design and excellent build quality. The laptop is powered by a 6-cell 86 WHr battery that Dell claims can last up to 13 hrs., but you can expect real-world usage of around 8-9 hrs.  

For the storage, there’s a 1 TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD preinstalled. The weight of the laptop is 1.86 Kg. The lightweight design and the edge-to-edge display makes this laptop the most compact 15-inch laptop available.

3. Asus Zephyrus G14

ASUS Zephyrus G14

Asus recently launched their Zephyrus G14 line up in India. The specs are so good on this one that it went out of stock within a day of its release.

The key highlight here is the 4000 series Ryzen processors. This particular 32 GB RAM model has a Ryzen 9 4900HS CPU. It is an 8-core 16-threads processor with a base clock of 3.0 GHz and a boost clock of 4.3 GHz. The CPU is an absolute monster when it comes to productivity workload and gaming. For the GPU we have an RTX 2060 Max Q 6GB GDDR6.

There’s a grid of LEDs present on the top lid that cover half of the space. The LEDs can be programmed to display any pattern, static or moving, as per the user’s preference using the software. Asus calls it the AniMe Matrix Design.

Display present here is a 14-inch 1440p panel with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage. There is also a 1080p 120 Hz option available if you prefer high refresh rate over higher resolution. 

On the storage side you get a 1 TB m.2 SSD preinstalled and an additional empty m.2 slot for future upgradability.

The laptop is powered by a 4-cell 76 WHr battery that should provide about 10hrs of usage on battery.

The weight of the laptop is just 1.7 kgs. Despite packing all the powerful hardware Asus has managed to keep the weight of Zephyrus G14 very low, which is the main selling point of the laptop for most people.

4. Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 2 in 1

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo Intel Core i9-10980HK 10th Gen 15.6 4K UHD OLED Touchscreen Laptop

Asus Zenbook Pro Duo is a productivity-centric laptop designed with some very unique features, mainly the secondary touch screen display that occupies the top part of the keyboard deck.

The 32 GB ram variants come with either 10th gen i7 10750H or an i9 10980HK. The former is a 6-core 12-threads processor while the latter is an 8-core 16-thread processor. On the GPU side, there’s a 6 GB RTX 2060.

The display is a 15.6-inch 4K OLED IPS touch screen display with DCI-P3: 100% Color Gamut, 400 nits Brightness, 133% sRGB coverage. It also supports HDR content and the bezels are very narrow. 

The secondary display is a 14-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 3840 x 1100 pixels. The webcam present on top of the display also supports Windows Hello face recognition. Asus also includes a stylus that can help take handwritten notes.

As the top portion of the keyboard deck is occupied by a secondary display, the keyboard is shifted to the bottom, as a result, there is no space left for palm rest. There’s a separate palm rest provided in the box. The trackpad is placed to the right of the keyboard and can be used as a num pad too with just a press of the dedicated button. 

The battery present in the laptop is an 8-cell 71 WHr and the included power adapter is rated 230 W.

5. MSI GS66 Stealth

The GS66 Stealth from MSI is a full-fledged gaming laptop with top of the line specs in a compact design.

The CPU present in this 32 GB ram model is Intel’s 10th gen i7 10750H paired with Nvidia’s 8 GB RTX 2070 Super Max Q GPU. There’s a higher specced model available too that sports an i9 10980HK and an RTX 2080 super Max Q.

The display here is a 1080p IPS panel with an insane 300 Hz refresh rate. Color accuracy of the panel is okay and is close to 100% sRGB coverage. The display can be hooked up to 3 monitors using Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports and can be scaled up to a resolution of 8K.

The keyboard here too is a SteelSeries one, just like the GP65 Leopard. There’s per-key RGB lighting but there’s no numpad present here.

This laptop has the biggest battery out of all the laptops on this list. It’s a 4-cell 99 WHr battery that is charged using the included 230 W AC adapter.

The weight of the laptop is 2.11 kg and is fairly portable. Having a laptop with almost one-day of battery life and 300 Hz screen along with powerful hardware might just be the perfect laptop for people who are into hardcore gaming.

There’s also a 17-inch model of the laptop with similar specs. MSI calls the 17-inch model GS75 stealth.

6. Asus ROG Zephyrus S15


Asus ROG Zephyrus S15 has very similar specs to the MSI GS66 Stealth, the key difference being the battery size and weight.

The processor here is the Intel 10th gen i7 10875H and GPU is Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Super Max Q. There’s an RTX 2070 Super model available on amazon too.

The chassis is made of Magnesium-Aluminum alloy with a little bit of plastic around the keyboard. The bezels around the screen are very narrow and there’s no webcam present here. There’s an external 1080p 60fps webcam provided in the box. The keyboard has per-key RGB but there is no numpad present.

The cooling system on this laptop is top-notch. There are a total of 6 heat-pipes used here and the thermal paste is the Thermal Grizzly’s liquid metal compound. There is a hinge mechanism that provides an ergonomic lift when the lid is opened and results in improved airflow.

The screen is the same 1080p 300Hz IPS panel. It is factory calibrated with ProArt TruColor Technology to have 100% sRGB and 75.36% Adobe RGB color space. The screen also has complete G-Sync support and an average G2G response time of 3ms.

The battery present is a 4-cell 76 Whr. The smaller battery makes the Zephyrus S15 lighter than the GS66 Stealth while giving almost 9hrs of battery backup. The overall weight of the laptop is 1.9 kgs.

ROG Zephyrus S17

It is a 17-inch laptop with specs very similar to the S15 and some design changes. 

The keyboard on the S17 is shifted to the bottom of the deck which imitates the design of the VIvobook Duo. The top portion of the keyboard deck is left plain with some pores for improved airflow.

The trackpad is placed to the right of the keyboard and can be used as a num-pad too. There’s a scroll volume rocker placed on the top right of the keyboard.

These design changes for improved heat dissipation and bigger chassis result in increased weight. The weight of the Zephyrus S17 is 2.60 kgs.

7. Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15


The ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 has a design language very similar to the Zenbook Pro Duo but with more gamer-centric features.

The laptop has a secondary display that has a 13-degree angle of elevation for a better viewing experience. This extra screen real estate can be very useful in gaming or in streaming where you can run the chat and the broadcasting software while the game is running the main screen.

There’s a separate 1080p 60 fps USB webcam included in the box.

The laptop is powered by Intel 10th gen i7 10875H that has a max boost clock of 5.1 GHz and the GPU present is Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Super with Max Q Design. 

The primary screen is a 4K IPS panel with only a 60 Hz refresh rate. The brightness of the screen peaks at 400 nits. Asus claims that the average G2G response time here is 3ms. The panel also has complete G-Sync support and has 132.70% sRGB and 100% Adobe RGB coverage.

The keyboard here too is placed at the bottom of the keyboard deck and has no palm rest. The trackpad is present on the right side just like the Zenbook Pro Duo and Zephyrus S17. The keyboard also has per-key RGB supporting Aura Sync.

The battery here is a 4-cell 90 WHr that is charged via the included 240 W AC adapter. With a battery this big, the laptop can hold enough juice to power through all day. 

The laptop weighs almost 2.5 kgs. Even though its weight is on the higher side, the laptop is still fairly portable due to its compact design.
