Best Graphics Cards For Gaming In India

We all know that both NVIDIA and AMD are two of the top brands that are manufacturing dedicated GPUs competitively. Recently, the competition has become a bit fierce between these two popular brands. And, this is actually good for consumers like us.

In this post, we will be talking about some of the best graphics cards in India. And, we will not talk about the rebranded GPUs here. We will review the stock GPUs from both NVIDIA and AMD. So, you can decide which one to choose for your own need.

Why So Many Brands for Same Graphic Card?

NVIDIA and AMD produce the GPU that does the processing , the chip is provided to vendors like Asus , Gigabyte , MSI , Colorful , INNO3D , Zotac etc. These vendors add their own patented cooling solutions , input & output ports. They might also overclock it or add vram , optimizing the card to give best performance by adding customization.

These cards from different brands can have varying benchmarks for same GPU from AMD and NVIDIA. Vendors also play a crucial role in customer service and support , building trust in market for their quality porducts.

Note : GEFORCE RTX 30 SERIES has been launched and hopefully should be available in India soon. Possibly by September end and October. So right now it doesn’t make sense to buy the RTX 2080 Ti , as RTX 3070 which costs quite less is looking faster than RTX 2080 Ti. But we will have to wait for more detailed tests.

Best Graphics Cards In India From NVIDIA and AMD

We will review the stock GPUs from both NVIDIA and AMD , you can then buy from any vendor like MSI , ASUS etc . So, without wasting more time, let’s get to the good part..

1. RTX 3090

RTX 3090 is the king of gaming GPU’s right now and it is the most expensive gaming GPU ever. Most people would be more than impressed with the already great RTX 3080 but for those people who want that extra in everything this is the one.

Yeah everything is extra in this GPU and it is the largest GPU among the bunch. Just take a look at the specs.

  • 356bit memory bus width.
  • GA-102 based architecture.
  • Comes with whopping 24GB VRAM.
  • 10496 CUDA cores.
  • Contains 82 RT cores and 328 tensor cores.
  • Over 1700Mhz boost clock and rated TDP of 350W.

So, this is big with big specs which requires huge amount of power. Make sure you have a powerful enough PSU to handle this GPU.

Not to mention the size of the GPU is also very large and

The sheer amount of CUDA cores in this thing would handle any task you would throw at it and the huge capacity of VRAM should handle any game even with the highest resolution and graphic setting.

Should you buy this? If you are looking to play all your games at 4K and above resolutions then go for it. For all other intends and purposes you would be good enough with lower priced offerings as the RTX 3090 costs huge amount of money.

2. MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ventus 3X 10G OC

10GB GDDR6X , PCI Express Gen 4

This is the RTX 30 SERIES card we could find on Amazon right now , I am hoping other models 3070 and 3090 to be available soon. For now , let’s talk about some of the specifications of this card.

Boost Clock / Memory Speed
1740 MHz / 19 Gbps

It has a composite Graphene backplate , which provides passive thermal conduction properties. You can also use Dragon Center software from MSI for any tweaks and optimization.

As you can see in the image , it has a triple fan design. The widely accepted MSI TORX Fan 3.0 which creates high static pressure and push the limits of thermal performance. Then there is Zero Frozr and Thermal padding for more efficient cooling , silent operation.

DisplayPort x 3 (v1.4a) / HDMI 2.1 x 1

This card is certainly designed to take your gaming experience to peak. However, the price is a bit steep as of now.

3. RX 6800XT

AMD has recently been pushing hard on gaming. First on their Ryzen CPU’s and now they are trying the same with the AMD Radeon GPU’s. Radeon RX 6800XT is the offering from team red that competes head on with the RTX 3080.

Here are the specs just for a spot of context as they cannot be directly compared with the specs that Nvidia offers.

  • 72 compute units and 72 ray accelerators.
  • Up to 2250Mhz boost clock and rated TDP of 300w.
  • 4608 stream processors.
  • 16GB GDDR6 VRAM.
  • 256-bit memory interface.

Ok, so the specs are definitely impressive and it also comes with much higher video memory when compared to just 10GB VRAM in the RTX 3080 but that’s not the whole story.

The performance is usually better on the RX6800XT only in the games that use traditional rendering when it comes to ray tracing in games the RTX 3080 provides much better performance.

Nvidia GPU’s also come with DLSS which comes in handy for better frame rates without much loss in visual quality which AMD currently has no alternative for. AMD GPU’s can operate in rage mode when paired with newer generation Ryzen CPU’s to provide better frame rates.

Go for the RX6800XT if you need high amounts of video memory or do not care about ray tracing performance but want great performance in traditionally rendered games. Also, it is a better option as it is cheaper at least on paper. But overall RTX 3080 is a marginally better option for most of the people.

4. RTX 3070

If you have ever been into the PC gaming there is a good chance that you might have heard about the RTX 3070 just because of the performance it promised to offered for the price.

RTX 3070 was promised to provide better performance than the RTX 2080ti at less than half the price. It was a bold claim but the RTX 3070 sort of delivered better performance than the 2080ti but not in every situation but this might change with driver updates in future.

Here are some key specs:

  • It comes with 8GB VRAM.
  • GA-104 based architecture.
  • Contains 46 RT cores and 184 tensor cores.
  • 5888 CUDA cores
  • Boost clock over 1700Mhz and rated TDP of 220W

You might think that it has quite low VRAM but it should suffice for current and next gen games but it might be a problem at higher resolutions and longevity is certainly a question. Despite that gaming performance is usually awesome.

The RTX 3070 is a great choice for gamers looking for higher resolution 1440P and decent 4K gaming alike.

5. RX 6800

RX 6800 is an awkward middle child that doesn’t quite perform better than the competing offerings while being more expensive and also doesn’t make sense as the price difference between RX 6800 and the RX 6800XT.

The specs are as follows

  • 60 compute units and 60 ray accelerators.
  • Up to 2105Mhz boost clock and rated TDP of 250w.
  • 3840 stream processors.
  • 16GB GDDR6 VRAM.
  • 256-bit memory interface.

The performance is very good in fact better than the RTX 2080ti in majority of the use cases. But it starts to make less sense if you can find almost similar performance and better ray traced performance in the RTX 3070 for a cheaper price (at least on paper). But the arguments can be made that RX6800 comes with double the VRAM of RTX 3070.

And also spending some more money will buy you a much better GPU than RX6800 does. This puts it in a really tough position.

Not to be mistaken the RX6800 is a great GPU but the weird positioning and its expensive pricing compared to its rivals are its biggest shortcomings.

6. RTX 3060ti

RTX 3060ti is the midrange offering from Nvidia that is slotted to fit in between the lower priced GTX offerings such as the 1660ti and the higher end RTX 3070.

RTX 3060ti offers great performance for the price it comes at. This midrange GPU offers consistently higher performance the RTX 2080 super that costed almost twice the price of RTX 3060ti at launch.

Here are some key specs:

  • It comes with 8GB VRAM.
  • Comes with GA-104 architecture.
  • 4,864 CUDA cores.
  • Boost clock of 1650Mhz and a rated TDP of 200W
  • Contains 38 RT cores and 158 tensor cores.

The raw specs are better than the RTX 2080 super and so is the performance and the RTX 3060ti performs near the ballpark of significantly more expensive RTX 3070.

With smaller versions of this GPU you could fit it into even the smallest of the cases.

If you have holding off to buy a GPU because of the high prices the 3060ti is a good entry into high performance GPU’s for a relatively lower price.

7. Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti

Ok, do you want the most powerful graphics card available right now out there? If your answer is yes and you don’t have any issues with the budget, then the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti is for you.

It has all the best features. Thus, you can expect it to be a high-priced GPU. And, in reality, this is the most expensive GPU in the world right now. This GPU uses the TU102 chip from NVIDIA. It has a memory clock speed of 14000 MHz, memory bus width 352.00 bits.

8. Nvidia RTX 2080 Super

If you can’t afford the previous NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti, yet you want a top-class performance from your GPU, then you can go with the RTX 2080 Super. For a lot of people, this could be the sweet spot when it comes to price to performance ratio.

This graphics card from NVIDIA comes with 8 GB of video RAM, 3072 CUDA cores, a 256-bit memory bus, and TU104 chipset. So you can see that it is not that powerful compared to the previous one. Yet, it packs a huge punch in its entirety.

Yes, there is an RTX 2080 from NVIDIA as well. However, at the moment, you will not find it on Nvidia’s official website. Because when they released the RTX 2080 Super, they have started to discontinue this card. So was that a bad GPU? To be honest, no this was a great option. However, you can actually get the RTX 2080 Super at the same price as this.

So, logically, you should not go for this unless you can get it for a lot less than the price at launch. This GPU is also using the TU104 chipset. But it comes with 2944 CUDA cores. On the other hand, it has the same 8 GB VRAM, 256-bit memory bus, and price with the RTX 2080 super.

So, it has earned a place on our list of the best graphics card in India. But we would not recommend it at the moment.

  • It has 6 GB VRAM
  • This is a GDDR6 GPU

17. Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti

During its launch, this was a highly anticipated beast of a GPU. At that time, this was a highly-priced premium GPU. But since then a lot of time has passed. And, along with that, the price of this powerful NVIDIA GPU has come down a lot as well.

So at the moment, it has great potential to be one of the best budget-friendly GPU from NVIDIA.

However, with the release of AMD RX 5600 XT in the meantime, it is very hard to go with this. Yet, if you are a fan of the green team, you can definitely get this one.

Top Features:

  • This one comes with 6 GB VRAM
  • It is a GDDR6 GPU
  • This one has 1536 CUDA Cores

18. Nvidia GTX 1660 Super

Many buyers that are on a limited budget would be happy to play the games at 1080p screen resolution. They don’t usually want to play at 4K resolution.

If that is your case as well and you want an affordable high-performance GPU, then the GTX 2060 Super could be a super (no pun intended) choice.

You know this is a GDDR6 GPU with 6 GB of VRAM. And, for gaming in 1080p, it could be the real deal.

Top Features:

  • It is a GDDR6 GPU
  • This one comes with 6 GB VRAM

19. Nvidia GTX 1660

We could easily recommend this GPU to our readers because of its price, performance, and specs. However, when you compare it to the GTX 1660 Super, you see that that GPU is a GDDR6 one, which has almost the same price.

And, we have seen a dramatic difference between GDDR5 and GDDR6 when it comes to gaming performance. So, generally, this is not a bad video card at all. However, if you can take the GTX 1660 Super instead.

21. AMD RX 5500 XT 8GB

Image Of ASUS AMD Radeon RX 5500XT- Amazon

About Stock version. Yes, we are talking about the 8 GB version of the AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT now. You might be thinking why a GPU with 8 GB VRAM is placed below a GPU with 4 GB VRAM. First of all, the 8 GB version is definitely better than the 4 GB version.

However, according to many benchmark ratings, the 4 GB version performs a bit lower compared to the 8 GB. And, considering the price to performance ratio, going with the 4 GB version would not be a bad idea.

On the other hand, if you are trying to future-proof your system with an 8 GB VRAM GPU, then you can go with this.

Top Features:

  • Comes with 1408 RDNA Cores
  • It has 8 GB VRAM

22. Nvidia GTX 1650 Super

Do you want to know which one is the best value card on this list? Then NVIDIA GTX 1650 SUPER is the answer. Yes, this is not a high-end GPU with premium features. But if you are talking about the cost to performance ratio, you will not find another better card at this moment.

NVIDIA has used the TU116 chipset and 128-bit memory bus on this. It has 4GB of VRAM. But interestingly, it is a GDDR6 GPU. And, at this price range, it is a rare case.

If you want the best bang for your buck, you can go with this. Matter of fact, this has become one of the most popular budget-friendly GPUs in the market as of right now.

Top Features:

  • This one comes with 4 GB VRAM
  • It is a GDDR6 GPU
  • This one has 1280 CUDA Cores

23. Nvidia GTX 1650

As you can see that this is the last one on our list. Thus it is also the lowest performance and lowest priced card on our list. Now the low price might intrigue you to buy it.

But you should keep in mind that there are better cards at this price range available. For instance, the RX 570 from AMD would be a great alternative to it. But we must admit, at the time of release, this was a great choice.

Top Features:

  • It is a GDDR5 GPU
  • This one comes with 4 GB VRAM
  • Comes with 896 CUDA Cores
