Techie 26 Quits Job to Rob Bengaluru PGs of Laptops

A 26-year-old B.Tech graduate from Noida was apprehended by HAL police on charges of pilfering 24 laptops valued at ₹10 lakh from various paying guest accommodations and software firms in Bengaluru.

Following a complaint lodged by a resident of one of the PG accommodations, law enforcement utilized CCTV footage and digital forensics to locate the suspect. Identified as Jassi Agarwal, the individual was taken into custody on March 26.

Investigations uncovered Jassi’s background as a B.Tech graduate who had previously worked in a private bank and temporarily resided in paying guest accommodations. Exploiting moments when fellow residents were absent, she surreptitiously entered their rooms to abscond with laptops and other high-value items.

The stolen merchandise was purportedly sold on the clandestine market in her hometown, with Jassi repeatedly relocating to different PG accommodations upon her return to Bengaluru. Authorities noted her resignation from her job approximately a year prior, opting to focus exclusively on the theft of expensive electronic devices.
